Claude Debussy – Clair De Lune

Classical music

Inspired by the poetry of Paul Verlaine: Clair de lune.

Your soul is a chosen landscape,
What are charming masks and bergamas
Playing the lute and dancing and quasi
Sad under their whimsical disguises.

While singing in the minor mode
Winning love and timely life,
They don’t seem to believe in their happiness
And their song mixes with the moonlight,

In the calm calm of the sad and beautiful moon,
Which makes the birds in the trees dream
And sobbing with ecstasy the jets of water,
The large slender jets of water among the marbles.

Your soul is an exquisite landscape
what masks and bergamas are enchanting
playing the lute and dancing, almost sad
in fantastic disguises.

While singing in a minor tone
victorious love and luck
of happiness they seem incredulous;
and the song merges with the moonlight,

with the calm calm of the moon sad and beautiful
that makes birds dream in trees,
of ecstasy sobbing gushing,
the high gills, agile among the marbles.
