‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the mome raths outgrabe
‘Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun the frumious Bandersnatch!
He took his vorpal sword in hand
Long time the manxome foe he sought
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
Stood awhile in thought
And as in uffish thought he stood
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back
And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
“Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Calloh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy
Calloh! Callay! O frabjous day!
Calloh! Callay! O frabjous day!

Hi all – this is my first upload in 2 years! For those that didn’t know, I wasn’t able to sing for a long time as I permanently lost some of the functionality in my voice. It took me two years but I re-taught myself how to sing using the registers I had left to me. My ‘new voice’ is quite unstable (like a babe in the woods!) and I never know what I’ll be waking up to, but I needed to get working on songs again or I was just going to wither away. Bear with me while I get back into the groove.
Alice in Wonderland has always been close to my heart and a source of comfort in some really dark times. I’ve decided Alice is what my next album will consist of – and this is the first song on it!
I hope you enjoy the video portion! My husband Kevin actually did all the filming! I am pretty impressed! I storyboarded the video and then he followed me around for a few days in the woods getting these shots. I made all of the Alice dresses from a Japanese pattern I found in a magazine. They took a loooong time but I am pretty good at sewing now…
Special thanks to my body double, Katie, for helping with the shots where I needed two Alices and also for helping a ton with the fight scene.
Also special thanks to my friend Jillian Aversa for not only showing me kindness and filling me with hope, but also for allowing me to be part of two of her professional video shoots earlier this year. I learned a lot from the experience and I just love her SO MUCH!
